Hey guys
looking for a bit of advice my hayes hose got damaged right at the calliper connection is it possible to remove the connection and cut 20mm off the hose and put the connection back on? or do i have to buy a full hose?
thanks

You will probably need a new olive because they are a compression fitting and difficult to get out of the old hose end without damage. Spares available from CRC.
Not sure of the exact construction of the Hayes connectors, but Shimano and Magura use a barbed insert and olive.
In my opinion, the inserts are not re-usable and the olives are definitely not re-usable.
Get a new pair and cut the damaged connector off.
Follow instructions for cutting the hose square and use a rubber/polymer mallet to gently tap the insert in place with the hose clamped in the recommended tool.
It all sounds a bit complex, but once you have done one you will see how easy it is.

just managed to get the old connection out of the damaged hose..... i have the hayes sole (will change them at a later date)
those are the connection bit's the ones in the middle the brass type.... think as above i would need to clamp the cable in wooden vice grips or something and then tap the connection onto the hose.....
cheers guys will give that a try (dont have vice grips in my flat but do at my work so will do it on tuesday...
