I'm interested to see what decor matches mint coloured nitrile gloves. ๐
(No is the answer.)
Yes. (but not that hub)
I've always used screw in free hubs. I agreed to look at this for a workmate. I presume it's been a one piece cheap and cheery affair. ๐
Going by the colour of that grease i'd say it hasn't seen any maintenance over the years so not exactly surprising!
Yes. On pumps that have ran dry. Bigger bearings though. ๐
I've seen a cassette freehub body get wrecked when the pedal has hit a rock at speed.....but never seen anything shear off inside the hub shell....
I can't tell if that's a Shimano or not, but if so, presumably you can still unscrew the gubbins with a 10mm hex key ?
Was the axle broken too?
Spindle is intact, most strange. Never seen the likes before. He wondered why it wasn't changing properly! Will investigate further tomorrow.
It'll buff out. For sure.:-)
So... is that silvery bit in the center of the hub the remnants of the freehub body? ๐ฏ

ive been running an atomlab trailpimp hub for the last 12+ years. still on its original bearings and freehub body. its never been serviced and its still runs smoothly with no play at all. i think i refreshed the grease about 3 years ago but thats about it.
some things dont need touching as often as others

I believe so!
