On my travels around the more salubrious areas of our great city I often look at people and their bikes (its a compulsion I'm sure you all share) and think "what is wrong with this picture?"
Normally its seeing some right dodgy looking scrote cruising past on somepiece of very expensive kit. The criteria that really set my antenna twitching are normally frames that only really come as custom builds etc. I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about.
I know that its pure speculation as to the ownership, but would it be possible to set up a bit of the site where we can say...
I spotted outside Hulme Asda last Monday a Black Cove Handjob (medium I reckon), with Reba's, XT groupset being ridden by a 15 year-old Moss Side scally
Or the DMR Trailstar I saw on Thursday night in Manley Park, Bombers, Red Chris King hubs and Headset, being ridden by an equally likely looking candidate
Then people could draw their own conclusions from that. And if that rang a bell with anyone, then maybe they could investigate the location further
Just a thought.....
As the owner of 2 Pronghorns, I have to at least suggest that this section might be open to abuse for the entertainment of non-fugly bike owners.

Damn, too slow...
Not sure if it fits the criteria, but there was a bloke with a totally brand new looking Cannondale on Saturday. Yellow one, with Magura rim brakes, lots of stickers on it. A early 90s retro bike delight. Thing looked like it had never been used offroad.
Location: My son's junior school May fete.
Why he was riding around a school fete is anyone's guess.
What use is that information? Are people going to go and stake out these locations on the offchance the person rides past again?
Did the Handjob look like this?

From your description it sounds like someone is riding round on my bike within a mile and a half of my house!
Binners YGM re one of the bikes.
Definitely a good idea IMO. Any sort of lead on these kind of things can be a good one. Here's another that I spotted a week or so ago:
Pimped up Yeti FS - Think it was a 575 in the colours below. Didn't get a full view of the spec, but it seemed tricked out with lots of red bits & Hope or other loud clicky rear hub. Heading down Oxford Road past MRI towards town by someone who definitely did not look like they should be riding a £3k+ bike.
I wonder how long before someone reports a big, thuggish looking bloke on a Lynskey Rohloff commuting along the cut near Kidderminster in the middle of the night. 😉
I suppose it would be useful actually. If anyone sees my red singlespeed 14.5" Marin Palisades trail with retro Kona P2s on round Sheffield, let me know (or just throw a brick at the rider).
I have been known to ride my full-sus with Crank Bros Eggbeaters to the local post office in jeans and a t-shirt whilst gently resting my trainers on the pedals rather than wearing SPD shoes.
Are people going to mistake me for a scrote? Do we need a secret hand signal?
What about a: missing bikes / dodgy bikes spotted section.
Would be useful when you spot that to good to be true deal. I contacted the seller of a hardtail stumpjumper once who said there was no paperwork and whilst i couldn’t come to his house to pick it up he would be in the Stretford Andale most of the afternoon to do a deal?
Now you wouldn’t take a bike like that to the Stretford Andale unless you wanted someone to beat you up and steal it or you had yourself stolen it.
No I didn’t buy it.
I've just mailed you both back. That's definitely the one. I'm gutted I hadn't seen your post before-hand. I was stood right next to it and I was in the car. Could have just shoved it straight in the boot.
I bloody new it was hot!!!!
Good Work Binners!
Hopefully that trained eye of yours will lead to the safe return of my Bike.
If I do happen to get it back, be sure that there'll be a pint in it for you!
Many Thanks
I'll keep an eye out for the Cove too andrewt as I work in Manchester bud.
