I think they have. Ten years ago you hardly saw a soul, and back then all sorts of people and groups were against us.
I always said whatever 'they' do it won't stop us. And now the place is packed and I think we have been accepted.
What do you think.

I was there today, decided yesterday to go with a mate and shakedown a new build (1 x 9 cotic soul in custard yellow) and the car park was packed, as we pulled in there was a mate I work with along with about ten of his riding buddies, and as we were setting off to ride after the obligatory faff session, another group of mates turned up, had a damngood play around Woburn today and everybody, bikers, walkers, horsey people were all happy and jolly, good skills to the old boy on the Pearson cyclocross bike who flew past when we were having a blood sugar top up break, even the landlord of the pub halfway up Church Road was happy to open at ten to twelve so we could have a very welcome post ride pint

I was there once and a walker screamed 'don't you have enough roads to bloody ride on' at me. I replied by asking if she perhaps should walk on the pavement.

Shame they didn't let us put in some hardcore and drainage in some places years ago as it would have saved loads of trail.

Oldgit that was me, made the mistake of venturing over the road and towards the old quarry area, that damp wet sand was a killer, definateley seemed to be one or two people out today, have to think that your skinny tyre aproach was the best way to go today

Woburn seems really good. Until recently, I had only ridden in the 'freeride' area, but cortousy of oldgit, I now have an urge to explore further afield.

Carl, if you fancy a ride one afternoon or something this week, let me know. My scale is built up again, and working nicely. We went out in Ashridge today, and i was really surprised at how dry it was...

Saw loads of people out today. At least 4 or 5 decent sized groups of bikers. Plenty walkers and horses too. And one woman with a horse hat, jodpurs, whip and no horse. Turns out she lost it. Half an hour and the help of about 8 MTBers finally managed to find the horse and reunite them, so that's a good tick in our box ๐Ÿ˜‰

Jedi I've not had a reminder either. If you do want one I think you'll have to pop over to Stockgrove.
I think you should join us on a gorse clearing ride in a few months, so we can get a few more sections up and running again.

Ron, the cross bike works well over there. Some of the long long muddy climbs are hard without the granny though. Were you with someone on a singlespeed, looked custom what was it?

Oldgit, yeah that was another bike I'd cobbled together using parts, very old Kona Joe Murray frame, P2 forks and some V brakes, frame bought of timdrayton from this parish, running 32/14 which my mate seems to like, I'll bring my old spesh rockhopper ss nexttime I think the 1.9 rear tyre would of been nice today, ref the woman with the missing horse, i didnt know they made jophers that big, her two freinds however whom we saw when she had her horse back, yes please

Jedi, you need a permit to ride Woburn? Where do I get one of those?

I did ride singlespeed there from about 2000 almost exclusively but finally sold my last s/s in November 2009.
I still found problems with uphill traction in a lot of local areas i.e stand up and the back went sit down and you couldn't make it.
I miss my singlespeeds, but good old xcbikes work a treat around here.

I do like my ss, I'm running 32/16 as I find the gear suits me, riding it rigid helps to improve my riding as I have to think more and concentrate on keeping it smooth, I find for me that it works really well around Woburn, however will admit to haven't a 'moment' first time I flew down the rollercoaster on it, a definate squeaky bum time
