[#2677314]

Steel, 29er, v brakes, 1x9, rigid.

Makes me remember why suspension is such a good idea! Really nice ride tho - so stiff when I want to put on some speed.

gears, brakes, normal bars, no superfluous tubing - unless those wheels are 633d and hand-turned from meteorites, you're nowhere near nicheland ๐Ÿ˜

(looks fine though - what's that on the seatpost ?)

Seat post tastic...... err snap

That is a 4 year old seat post - from my ScandAL - no problems so far. Not much choice as the frames are only 21".

That's a 29er inner tube and a 15mm spanner taped to the seatpost.

Other than the dangerous seatpost, I like it in an odd way. But the Vs seem inadequate to me. Horrific in the mud too!

What do you take it on?

I'm currently visiting my in-laws in the USA. Got this for $349 delivered so it is now the 'stay-at-mother-in-laws' bike - stops me going stir crazy when we visit this car-obsessed country. I have mech discs to put on it but the mounts need facing and just wanted to ride it! It is lovely on the roads and cycle paths - needs suspension for off-road really, but that will come.

That road bike looks 26" with the frame! Nice to someone else with beaters on the tarmac ๐Ÿ˜€

You must get through miles of cables! And you'd get multiple bottle cages on that road frame! ๐Ÿ˜‰

coatsey - not to my knowledge. I've seen the Mendips before tho.

Tim - same seatpost on both mountain bikes - a 420mm long FSA one I got from CRC about 4 years ago.

I really like the Scout. Shame we can't get some of the American brands in the uk. SE and a few others make some nice looking bikes

'hang on a minute.. You qualified for the rollapaluza grand finals ๐Ÿ™‚

it's fine.. Si (off of webbs) said he's unfit and avoids hills at all costs on club rides.

I think the KoS was thinking about coming out now as he has a new shiny road bike

KoS weighs about the same as one of my legs - including his bike. Si just straps a packet of custard creams to his handlebars and uses them for motivation these days! As for you - far too fit anyway!

Could you put a sofa in your front traingle, so the cheesey's can have a sit down and a natter while you're riding them to the pub?

Call that Niche?

Surely a "94er" (29"F/24" rear) soft tail, rigid forked bike, with a 3 speed SA hub and coaster brake, upside down mary bars and a front pannier only would be more "Niche"...

No - but I could get either trickydisco's or your bike in there in a sort of Thunderbird 4 stylee - or make a seat for each of you on the bottle mounts and you could help pedal.

I was thinking about insulting your road bike but decided not too, given you must be about 2ft taller than me!

Yours are - and you being short means you have no excuse! Strange how in the flesh nobody notices I ride 29ers at first - they just look normal around me. The road bike does look more lovely in the flesh.
