Was talking to one of the guys on Thursday night's ride and he mentioned the On One 25% off frames sale. Sme ride I had an otb incedent and snapped a brake lever. In a fit of beer and cake fuelled internet searching for a rep[lacement I ended up on On One's website and the next thing I knew was that I'd bought a steel 456 frame.
Ignoring for now the fact that I love both my current bikes and had no intention of getting another I'm now nervous bout the fact that I'm 6'22 with 34" inside leg and I bought an 18".
I've decided that since my other bikes are both retro, short forked 'xc' hardtails nwith rim brakes I will build the 456 on the burlier side, longer forks, tougher wheels etc.
What I'm after really is reassurance that it won't be too small. I won't do long rides on it, just an hour or two of 'messing about in the woods', will it all be ok or will I end up cursing my gangly frame yet again?
They are quite long frames so in that respect you will be fine.
Im 5'10" with 32" inside leg and on an 18" frame there was an awful lot of seatpost showing on mine when it was at the right height for me.
Cracking frames for the money though, if its gonna be too small cant you exchange for a 20"?
Hope this helps!
sounds like it'll be perfect for what you intend
6'1" here and ridden medium inbred, 456 & c456 - they're long frames anyway and fitted me fine
Why not cancel the order quickly? Distance selling regs etc? Ring them and explain you were drunk!
Already dispatched. Think I'll do some measuring when it arrives and see how it compares to my current bikes. They only had the 20 in brown & I wanted blue!
I'm about the same height as you but probably longer in the leg and I have long freak arms too. I have the 20" standard Inbred and it fits me nicely. I'm reckoning you'll probably be ok with the 18" as a lot of folk say it's a big bike anyway and you'll probably be going down more gnarly shit on the 456 too. I've not ridden 18" though. Hope you have as much fun as I do with my Inbred.
6'1" with 33" inside leg here and no issues with an 18" 456.
