[#11397186]

Found it on Pinkbike and then again on ebay:

Looks at the picture of the seat tube - why is there a weld there?

Different internal diameter tubing for the seat post.

44 bikes does the same as does BTR.

Looks to be the same as this one? stolen-bikes Or at least a repair/ design feature in the same place

Edit: Components have been swapped but the frame looks very similar

Well this pic of a new frame on the pedalrevolution.co.uk site looks to have the same weld above the sticker . . . unless my eyes are playing tricks again 😉

Well - everyday's a school day. I've owned A LOT of Ti bikes and never had this. Why not just use the correct tube diameter to begin with? Weight? Cost? I think my Ti29er had a shim, though I'm not sure if that was a design feature or a quality control problem.

Plenty of people. They go on the trip and decide that it's not for them. I've a friend who did that.

Bontrager was doing it about 25 years ago, so definitely a "thing" for titanium MTB frames

My 2souls Quarterhorse had a seam there too.

Also, in the linked advert the person selling the bike hasn't owned it from new, so there is a fair chance that they will get the same (or close to) back that they paid for it.
