I got banned for promoting the SingleTrackWorld Southern Festival, the same day the prizes they had sent me arrived.

STW southern festival was the one-off precursor to the Big Bike Bash which I also got banned for promoting

I got banned once for posting a picture of some hemorrhoids.

I got banned once for putting a thread title that was too long and which broke the forum format

I've received numerous tellings off but never a ban.

I only get emails about inappropriate posts and the posts deleted on threads where people have said much worse things. I think it's only inappropriate though if someone else complains.

I'm not allowed to discuss what I was banned for. Though I may win the prize for the shortest ban and/or the only person to successfully argue for my ban to be lifted.

Personally I don't see why not because 1) those that know what I'm referring to will know anyway, and 2) those that don't wont. So the state of play remains the same.

I received a couple of bannings, and a very sharp phone conversation with the mag editor, after which I apologised.
I also got a ban for a comment someone else (swiss tony) made. I got unbanned sharpish.

Apparently Edward Snowden's got the banned list off the CIA.

Druidh got a ban for the use of the word **** in a completely non-racist and contextually correct manner. I still think the Pavlovian response was rather out of place (but funny nonetheless).

I got a stern warning for trying to evade the swear filter and a ban for posting the video of the racist woman on the tube (Which had been posted already).

I think the mods are way too oversensitive and they seem to let some things go by whilst others get hammered . I've probably just set of some alarm and expect a blacked out SUV to be outside the house in the next 30 minutes.

I've had a few warnings, but also a while ago I posted of my experience of a certain organisation and a representative of said organisation contacted the mods to demand my comments were removed,
After contacting me and getting my side of the story and me standing by what I posted, they told em to jog on and let my comments stand..
So it's not always about the ban hammer and you can't say sh**....

What was it for then? Definitely something exactly like that, "swear filter avoidance" for something that wasn't in the swear filter.

Not banned yet, but had a stern telling off for avoiding the swear filter, for words that were not in the swear filter but should be, in a thread full of swearing. My post was nowhere near the worst but someone got all delicate and reported it.

I had a few days banning for apparently deliberately avoiding the swear filter by typing **** , despite it being perfectly acceptable on R4 during daytime radio broadcasting and on the BBC web forum along with national broadcasting on father ted and other programs....personally i find the phrase 650b far more upsetting to my delicate nature.
