[Closed] has anyone owned a 29er and hated it?

Perhaps I'm just getting more used to seeing them or the latest geometry helps their appearance but I'm having thoughts these may have benefits for my type of riding. I've booked a test bike from my local leisure lakes store but I was wondering if anyone has bought one (not just tested) and after living with it for some time, and regrets making a purchase? I noticed someone in the classifieds asking for a swap for a turner sultan and it made me rather conscious that this might be a regular scenario. Thanks in advance for any opinions (from people who have actually ridden one thanks!!)

Got a Gary Fisher X Caliber 29er, hated it, sold it after after 4 weeks.
Had a Inbred 29er which I loved, but sold it for the above.
Now own a Swift, Grand Canyon Al and a Salsa Horsethief all 29er, love them all.
29ers can be as different as any 26er can.

Chances are you'll find you have more fun downhill on a decent 29er, and uphill, and across the hill

compared to...

50/50 verging towards 55/45 as you tend towards 6'6"
