Garage is getting a bit cluttered so have been looking at hooks for hanging the bikes vertically from the wall. I like the look of the Delta Leonardo Wall Mount (here) but at £10 per hook seems a bit steep.

Do the expensive hooks have any advantage over your traditional cheapo rubber mounted screw in hook?

I have two of those: one for the road and one for the mountain. They work and do not damage the wheels. What more can I say? I've just bought a third hook, for the SS, but this time a different design. Rather frustratingly Halfords are now selling the same one for £9.

I managed to get 10 of these on ebay for about £5 each.

You could go for something cheaper by fitting a rial to the wall and then using a bungee. But thes is a "horiztinal" wall mount.

Looks like you got a bargain, Stoner. I like to way that you have mounted them on wedges to angle the bike in.

Ha. That's me scoffing at you Fancy Dans with your finely engineered solutions. I've just tied tea-towels in loops around the garage roof beams and hang my bikes up by the saddle. Cost me nowt.

Asda do cheap packets of two bike hanging hooks, badged up as by Bell, in the 'biking' section.

I just use cheap vinyl covered hooks. Think they were £2.99 a pair. Used them for 10 years now.

Ah but what do you use to dry the dishes? There's always a price to pay.

From the old shed when I had more bikes to hang up.

Now I only have 5 that I need to hang instead of 7.
