I'm still accumulating parts ready for my 853 rourke audax which is due in August, got a mix of black and silver parts, now looking for wheels (£200-£300). Seen some Mavic a719 rims with hope rs hubs for £300 which seem like a good deal but was going to hold on for the new open pro to come out. Looking to put 28c tyres on so after something with a decent size internal rim, also like the look of the h plus son tb14.
Any feedback or suggestions would be much appreciated. Cheers
Light touring wheels? Why?
A719s are 550gm...light rims are 400gm or so. What's the point when you have 20kg in your panniers?
Oh and rim width won't matter one bit at the pressures you'll need, that's marketing bullshit.
Sorry!
Light touring as in carrying a light load, not as in light touring wheels.
Wont a wider internal rim width improve the way the tyre is seating and therefore improve grip and handling? I know when i changed the wheels on my carbon bike from the stock wheels to campag neutrons the cornering improved no end.
