i am having serious trouble with the cold and my hands.
cos of my heart trouble thing i can't ride hard enough to generate any heat in the extremities.
i am usually a hot sod and spend the winter in nothing thicker than windproof stuff.

this year so far i have tried and passed on or sold
silk liners and extremities velo
wool liner and extremities velo
sealskins
neoprene fishing gloves
and finally chiba drystar gloves
non of the above have helped and kept me warm

anyone use mountaineering type gloves
if so whats good please.

i can hardly ride now as it is and the pain i am getting when i try to ride is making it very hard to get out a continue riding.

Get some Bar Mitts or similar. There are some in "Fresh Goods" - http://www.ajbikeequipment.com/

I rode with some similar to this in Alaska, and was wearing only very very thin gloves down to about -20C.

A guy I ride with has taken to using gloves with in built heaters.

I think they are these

At the price they are worth a punt.

Only a guess so don't shoot me but it might be your ticker not being able to pump blood to the extremeties when you exercise as it is doing its best keeping the essentials going, so gloves may not be the answer. Frustrating as it must be listen to your body.
