[Closed] Hand built rim cracked in two places

Both cracks are where the spoke eyelets are. I'm binning the rim and have already bought a replacement, my worry is that it's the way I built it, for example maybe the spokes are too tight or something like that.
The rim (Mavic XM719) is old, at least 5 years, and has been used a lot on a commuter bike, so the aluminium may have just fatigued. It is also on the rear, where it gets the most pounding from my lardy arse. Although I don't have a way to measure the spoke tension, they feel a bit tighter than a factory built wheel but also I certainly don't wail on them to get then silly tight either. Any thoughts?

Cracking around the eyelets is a common failure for mavics so given the age, I don't know that you need to be looking for a problem...

I've had a few old mavics go there, usually corrosion between the nipples & the eyelets too. Common thing

Yep, sounds normal, and to be honest, five years of use on the back of a commuter is pretty good going!
