Ok on my singlespeed just changed the chain and having problems. The chain is either really tight making pedalling difficult or too loose and skips. I am running a singulator tensioner. So I am going to buy a half link. Looking on charlie the bike monger they have 1/8th or 3/32. Do either of these match a 9 speed chain? Im using a 9 speed chain as I had one which snapped on my normal bike but I thought would be ok on my singlespeed. It is only really used for on road riding so nothing to extreme
3/32 is 8 speed. 1/8 is single speed. These will not fit 9 speed.
If I can piggyback on this thread - I need to fit a half-link to my girlfriends hack singlespeed. It's got a KMC 1/8th chain and half-link to match - can I just carefully push the pins out and back in to put the link in, or are there specific joining pins Shimano stylee?
I've always reused the pins on SRAM & Wippermann chains.
No experience with KMC.
That isn't very helpful, is it?
only shimano have the silly system of special pins.
kmc will be fine
Excellent. Thanks guys.
