I've always used Shimano/Hope but my Hardtail has a GXP BB which needs replacing, but I'm not sure what I'm looking for!!
There is one on CRC but it looks different to what's on my bike, i.e. the end cap covering my bearings is designed to fit a splined crank, but the one on CRC just looks to be round, if that makes sense?
My crank is a Truvativ Noir Carbon if that helps.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks

you dont want the press fit one .
Hope are likely to have a solution, press fit or screw in ?
Hope also make adapters for gxp cranks, as the bearing on the non driveside sits on the step down part of the axle next to the spline.
The one currently fitted is a standard external screw in, 68/73 English thread.
I'm not bothered about having Hope on the HT, just a functioning BB!
This is the one I'm looking at:

my last screw in gxp had a washer that had the wavey/spline pattern
in it.

Yep, sounds like mine!
I have used that CRC one with a Carbon Noir. The only splined bit is the washer on the end as said above
I recently did my first ever GXP replacement with that BB (GXP Team). It does have the splined washer.
If you haven't replaced one before, then don't be surprised if the driveside of the crank doesn't sit flush against the driveside bearing cup - it in't supposed to, even if the old cup looked like it did due to the plastic tophat moving out.
It won't sit flush even if you persuade it gently with a mallet ๐ณ
If you the wavey holed washer I can post you one if you like, email in profile.
Cheers guys,
So, at the risk of sounding dumb, assumming the BB didn't come with the wavey washer (which it should) can I just use my old one?
It will. But yes you can use your old one. It is only a mud shield in addition to the bearing seals. Regarding the point made by Tim, if you find this to be the case (and I have had it on most of my GXP BBS, you can run a thin rubber O-ring between the driveside crank arm and the plastic top hat which stops it from moving out and hopefully thus affording a little more mud protection to the bearing.
Thanks again guys.
I'll get purchasing tonight!
