Hopefully a quick Q.. but is there any difference for the cranks between a BB30 press fit BB and a regular one. I have an X1 chainset that came with a BB30 bottom bracket that I want to fit to a bike with a regular threaded 73mm bb shell - can I just buy a threaded GXP BB or will it require different cranks? I suspect it'll be OK.
The spindles on the cranks are different.
Difference between cranks is BB30 is a 30mm axle and std shimano is 24mm (GXP crankset are 24mm tapering to 22mm?).
Off-hand I'm unaware of any BB that will fit a BB30 crankset to std threaded BB shell, it's normally the other way round that ppl want to do it.
Rotor make a BB which allows you to fit a BB30 crankset to a threaded HT2 frame.

Raceface do a BB that will take 30mm spindles in a regular BB shell too.

'tis ok. I will return these and wait for the right thing to come back.
in the mean time I can 'borrow' my other chainset with a hope fat/thin chainring on there..
