If you want something to keep you warm then go for a windproof with water resistance properties.

I would consider something made of softshell fabric or even pertex over a jersey or fleece for 90% of the time. It would not be waterproof but shower proof and would be much more comfortable when it is not raining. Some pertex jackets can be picked up for 30 pounds and as there is no membrane to delaminate can be washed, scrunched up without the same care to avoid damage as a waterproof.

Oh, I see. I thought you were meaning that if I knew of another brand I should write the word me. So I did.

I have a Paramo smock and although its not as water proof as it was I think its what your after. Its really comfy and just breaths so well. A different order of event to membranes and even soft shells

Mine is Velez adventure smock, also look at the velez smock

I find that the eVENT material gives very good breathability, to the point of being cold. But then, I sweat like a mo fo. If you're looking for warmth, I would recommend wearing multiple thin layers under a lightweight windproof shell. The outer shell can be a cheapo job so long as you get the layering right!
