Tempted by the Lyra framest at PX, but I can't work out what the real world geomerty is.

Normally, I'd ride a 52 road bike (with up to a 54 toptube), but I'm cautious about cross - don't want anything too tall (either in frame size or standover if the BB is raised) but still need some length.

Anyone have any thoughts?

The small is too small. You're the same as me aren't you 5'8"?

The medium looks bob on in length, but I can't tell if it's semi sloping. So it's hard to say if it's spot on for you, but the others are deffo too small or too big.
I ride a 52C-T Zepnat, the lengths great but I have a fair bit of post exposed which I can sometimes feel flexing.
Off the peg frames in 53 seem to be ideal for me.

I wouldn't worry about the standover too much - when was the last time you straddled a cross bike? Just get the length right, and don't forget that a slacker seat angle as commonly seen on cross bikes effectively shortens the top tube.

oldgit - 5'7" - but I have relatively short legs.

LS - agreed, but I do have a slight "fear" of frames where the BB is way off the ground.

Anyway, I seem to have cut across all this by agreeing to buy a friend's P-X Uncle John for £250 (full bike). So, looks like that's what I'll be riding then....
