[#2337935]

Hi
Could anyone please clarify if when you fit an A2Z rear adapter,do you need to fit a bigger disc. I have put A2Z on a GT Zaskar frame, with bb7 caliper and 160mm disc and the caliper/pads sit higher than the 160mm disc, the pads do not even reach the disc. It looks like the disc is too small.
All help gratefully received.

A2Z make various mounts for different size discs/caliper models/front or rear/post/IS, you'll need to know which model you have, though unless you've mounted it backwards, it sounds as if it's the wrong one.

Hi
Thanks for info. I did not know there was more than one size. Whenever I see one on Ebay or say Wooly Hat website there is no mention of different sizes for the A2Z DM-UNI.

When you say "rear adapter" do you mean the one for fitting a disc caliper to a non-disk mount frame ?
Or the IS adapters ?
The former should give you a 160mm IS mount, but you have to position it with the wheel sitting in the drop-out. It can be fiddly to get in position.
The latter come in two types...+20mm & +40mm. These are just a spacer, to allow you to run a 20mm bigger disc dia.

Hi
It is the A2Z DM-UNI adapter that has 2 plates that attach either side of the dropout (for frames without disc tabs) and has 3 bolt and a tab that rests on the seat stay. I am beginning to think that the bb7 caliper is not compatible ?

I fitted one years ago which worked fine - it is supposed to fit just like a standard rear IS mount on the frame so in theory a 160mm rotor with the matching caliper should work right off. Are you sure you don't have a front 160mm IS caliper? Fitted to the rear, that'd fit a 180mm rotor.

Pics?

Assuming you've positioned it so the axle is in-line with the smaller hole, not the larger one...

A BB7 caliper is post-mount isnt it ? Are you sure you've got THIS 160mm IS-Post adapter, not a 180mm one ?

I bolted mine to the dropout, thought the clamp design was a bit crap plus it looks better.
