My GF bought a new gravel bike recently, lovely bike with drops and GRX 2x11. However, due to a past whiplash/neck injury, she’s just not getting on with drop bars. The reach is fine, but prefers an open chest and wider hand position of flats.
Would be a shame to lose money on the bike by selling it for something different, so looking at swapping it to flat bars which she prefers. It seems theres a 11spd road compatible flat bar shifter, so thats fine. Thus my questions are:
Can the GRX810 front mech work with a deore shifter. I can’t find pull ratio info on the shimano tech docs?
Am I correct that all shimano levers are compatible with all calipers, so could just swap the 810 brifters for say SLX mtb levers and rebleed?
Any experience positive or negative gratefully received

Front, might work. Rear No. Different pull ratio. You want RS700 or similar road flat bar shifters. I would just go RS700 both sides for matchy matchy. Think Wiggle have them for £50 a pair.

Yes, may need different hose lengths. Can use rear on front and then just buy one new hose for rear (obvs)

Cheers, I hadn’t realised there was an RS700 front, found that after posting.

Perfect. Presume just a change of olives or fittings, should hoses not need changing.
