We’re planning to test the Ratbite system against other similar tyre inserts in an upcoming grouptest, so keep your eyes peeled for a full review.
So how are you going to do that? Is this going to be a case of "we handed out six systems to six testers and let's see how they got on" followed by "big Douggie got lots of punctures with his XXX system but he's a big lad so we didn't really learn anything" as seems to be pretty typical with a lot of group tests?
The way I see it, you'll have to build a test rig and give these things a good hammering* on a standardised rims and tyre combo. Got to make the insert the variable and all other factors a constant....

Or you could ride the same trail repeatedly, at speed on the same bike with the same rider, with the same wheels and tyres, but with different 'inserts' and see what happens?
The problem with using a test rig alone is that it's not going to tell you anything about changes in ride feel. Or what happens in long term use when presumably the insert gets damaged by rock strikes.
It sounds interesting anyway.
