i removed my grips the other day and have tried to refit them but they won't stick using hairspay for some reason,any ideas why?

And you can always tie the ends with tire-wire. Ever wondered what those grooves were for?

Bit of petrol out the lawnmower might do the trick. Or meths. Evaporates real quick and leaves no trace of anything to make them slip.

c9tin never said they were baggy only that hairspray did not work which oftern it does not

i always use disc brake cleaner to remove and replace my grips. works everytime..

thanks for the replies.i've managed to sort it,i took them off again,wrapped masking tape around the bars,then put golf grip double sided tape on followed by a bit of white spirit and they seem rock solid now(hopefully).

I always ended up stretching the grips when removing.

Also found Fairy liquid helps them back on and dries like superglu.

Gone for lock on's after destroying too many grips when chnaging bits.

Think shimano has a new clamp on shifters soon so you don't need to remove grips anymore to swap gear levers-yay!
