Son has Merida 624 with 1x8 gripshift gears, we need new grips but cant find any that comes with a long and a short, any ideas?

A cut down lockon will grip fine just using one collar. As above, just cut one.

I still use grip shift on one bike. I bought SRAM grips off eBay for not much. If you want decent ones, possibly buy a pair of short ones and a pair of medium, then you've spares for next year/to smarten up the bike when ready to sell. Also Islabikes use that set up, possibly email them to see if they sell spares

I find the srams too longlong, my preference is esi cut to length but any decent lock on will do just saw straight
