[#4106759]

as you saw earlier this week, my hub died on Sunday, so following a recommendation I took it to www.bikerehab.co.uk/home/, just across the road from the Wellington/student flats behind devvy green.

within seconds the hub had been checked, and declared a terminal case, and Alex (the guy there) said he could do a wheel build by the next day for me. I left the wheel overnight and picked it up, shiny and new ready for my Tuesday night ride. Not at all a bad price either.

he's even promised a free true within 7 days edit: if it needed it.

I had a chat with him about my next bike and he really knows his stuff, recommending parts for a lazy maintainer like me who rides in peak grime.

just thought I'd let folks know on here, cos its good to have a good central bike servicing shop.

edited again...

what's so bad about that? It's an extra guarantee/peace of mind that I most probably won't need to take advantage of and that he didn't have to offer. Fair play and good luck to him.

I agree with Pook! Never used them but that's the service you need when one is up to his neck in woe!

nice, good to have another option in Sheffield. I've also had similar excellent service from Just Riding Along, but they only work on their own builds

Bit of a resurgence of small independents in Sheff after the old ones got a bit complacent,(too much old roadie sniffiness put novices off) let the chains in, now the wheel has turned, pardon the pun.

Didn't even know they existed! And I work just round the corner...

Just looked exactly where they are. I ride past every day and hadn't noticed it! They could do with some bigger signs 🙂

Looks like they offer a great service though with opening hours that actually work for working folks! I generally shouldn't need to use them, but it's a great option if need be. Thanks for the heads up...
