A great little video about the restoration of a Raleigh Bomber. Well worth a watch - it’s pretty short. I must admit the reason behind the restoration made me shed a tear.

I had the exact same one - even down to the mudguards. "Superchrome Blue"

PX'd it for my first Saracen Ltd Edition in 1989 (Exage Mtn & U-Brake).

Great video. Thanks for posting. Never owned a Bomber.

Did own that M&S sweater in the last frame though.

Great film. I bet that seatpost was a bugger to get out!

I think there was a Saracen Ltd Edition at the end of every year, using up whatever pile of stuff they had overstocked 🙂

The Bomber needs the correct circular rear reflector. But the slightly different new tyres suit it better.

Always loved the Bomber, (and one of the best ever bike names to boot!) but eventually got a pale blue, 5 speed Maverick which was even betterer, (but TBH still shit. 😀 )

One of my mates had a Bomber with the 3spd Sturmey Archer hub when I had a 15spd Peugeot Lynx - way back in 1987. On twisty singletrack it just totally held its line and rode over everything we attempted at the time.
