A while ago I bought a crc branded "pro" bike bag, it was basically a evoc knock off, not quite as good, but nearly.
It was half price, I got an Easter discount of £12 on top of that.. So cost ~£110
On its third outing it split at the lower seam..
I emailed crc and despite it being out of warranty they offered me ~£100 off an evoc bag, and were happy to wait until after pay day!
Good on them, as I was expecting nothing!
Parcelforce are delivering new one, they left a card saying it had been returned to the depot on Friday, so I drove to the depot, it's back out on the van! So will now have to drive to the depot again! Ah well.
Just thought a good customer service story was worthwhile.
You mean ParcelFarce. Don't get me started - had more trouble with them than anybody else (including playing "where's the parcel" while trying to collect), though it does seem to have improved in the last year or so. 🙄
And to be fair, I was waiting in at home today for a delivery from Evans via DPD, only to get an email mid-morning that "Apologies, your Evans Cycles parcel has been delayed in the DPD network". Apparently it's still at the collection depot, but now due delivery tomorrow so another day waiting at home. Sadly no carrier is immune to problems. 😐
Still, good to hear that CRC came through for you. 😀
Parcelfarce are the worst - had this last week, get text " your parcel is out for delivery", so waiting in for it at work, get text saying "sorry but we have been unable to deliver your parcel as there was no one there - it has been returned to your ***** sorting office for collection"
WTF!!
10 mins later after calling the supplier I get a text saying "we have successfully delivered your item"
WTF!!
20 mins after that the Postie walks in and hands it over - go figure
Another Big up for CRC Customer service here.
Ordered and paid for a Kona MinUte 18" bike after the PSA on here
Got an order confirmation email..... no dispatch email
Chased it up on Tuesday and then got a response that due to stock control / website ordering issues they did not have the 18" in stock to send me.
Offered refund etc
20" still available, but price has now increased by £40
Email discussion and end result is they will supply me with a 20" at the original price I paid for the 18" that they cant deliver.
Oh and a £10 off voucher too for the hassle 8)
Still no dispatch email though so........... ?
I once went 18 months where ParcelFarce didn't manage to deliver any parcels to my home, despite 2 or 3 being sent through them each month by various shops. Several times I was told "nobody was in" when I'd stayed in all day to wait for it and there was no card through the door, but in the end they started admitting that the driver couldn't find the house even though every other carrier could (he couldn't be bothered more like).
I had a 2 hour drive to collect every parcel, usually through rush hour traffic to Southampton as it wouldn't be back at the depot before then. Got to know the office staff quite well, and kept suggesting that I'd give them a map and directions to pass on to the driver but they were "not allowed to do that" apparently, so all I could do was keep complaining about it. In the end, one of them told me they'd had so many complaints about him that the driver was about to be sacked, and shortly after that parcels started being delivered to the house.
Apart from that and the occasional "next day" delivery that takes two or three days, I've almost never had any problems them. 🙄
The crc site has been down, is it down for everyone else ? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/
