Dot Watchers assemble!
The Great British Divide starts tomorrow, from Kent to the Outer Hebrides.
I think there's just under 50 riders on to start. If they come past your area get out and give 'em a cheer and tag your pics on insta!!

Interesting route choice, it seems to wiggle around at random. I'd have thought it would target a more direct north south or have some significant start end points.

To save me painstakingly comparing both routes, does anyone know if it follows TRC's GBDuro from Chepstow to Mach of is it different.

Anyone know of a route site I can overlay the two routes on?

A pal of mine started it as an ITT last weekend but appears to have scratched somewhere in Wales 😕

RWGPS does this, but may be a feature only for paid membership ($6/mth).
You can overlay enough routes that it becomes confusing. It's very good for looking for overlaps and links.

I'd put my lunch money on Josh Ibbett winning this. Odds wouldn't be very long, though.

Install Garmin Basecamp and you can do as many routes as you want, change colours, etc.

You can track the riders here: https://greatbritishdivide2021.maprogress.com/#

Lots of them on the SDW on Sunday on their day 2.

met a few riders coming through my home town last night, and josh on sunday, think its been harder going in the south than expected due to wet conditions and overgrown trails. Josh was looking forward to wales and faster terrain...

can use google maps > your places> maps > create maps then can add gpx routes onto map layers, is a handy tool for quick comparisons and easy to access

The route's taking them down Cavedale! most of them on CXs. That'd be a good spot to sit and cheer them on! 😂
