I'm heading over to Wales bright and early on Saturday am for a long weekend of tacking the Welsh trail centres kicking off with Coed-y-Brenin. Given the early start on Saturday we're looking to kick off the weekend on the right footing so looking for a good hearty breakfast en-route. We'd ideally like to stay clear of the big supermarkets fry-ups so was wondering if there are any decent greasy spoons on the way over to Coed-y from the East Midlands. Not sure of the exact route - there seems to be a few options with not much in them so the location of a decent Greasy Spoon might influence the route.

Cheers.

Not sure which route you'd be taking and maybe a bit close to CYB, but we've stopped in Bala before now. Can't remember the name of the cafe but it was on the right in the middle of the parade of shops as you head into Bala towards the lake.

Rhug farm also has a decent cafe (near Corwen)

Montford bridge cafe on the A5 just past Shrewsbury. In a picnic area directly off the A5 just before you cross the river Severn.
