I've always used the CK ring drive lub for my CK bearings, but I remember someone on here saying that CK advised them to use grease for the wet UK conditions.
Does anyone have any information on this ie what type of grease to use.

AFAIremember the manual said if you couldnt get hold of their special grease that you could use normal 10w40 motor oil

10w oil is for the ring drive not the bearings!
I've not seen anything about grease instead of their own lube for bearing applications. I've just spent Good Friday servicing all my King hubs with the King lube and used 10w suspension oil on the ring drives, they're all as good as new now.

I just use a normal quality waterproof greaseon the bearings, rather than any snake oil/grease on offer from CK

Pay a fortune for hubs which need servicing regularly.

Great ill take 3, they can go with my deore hubs which also need similar care to keep them working ;o)

I'd suggest you get some hopes turnip, which you can run trouble free for about 5 or 6 years, then smack the bearings out, £2 each to replace them, and enjoy another 5 or 6 years of troubles free service.
