Just heard about Gravesend Cyclopark ( http://www.cyclopark.com/) today. The website is a bit vague about what's on offer. Has anyone here been there? And is it worth a visit for MTBing?
I looks like they've got a short XC loop and possibly a skills area but dont really indicate if it fun/challenging enough to loop around it a few times.
BTW, I live 45mins drive away so wouldn't be making a big journey to get there.
thanks
IMHO its not worth the trip.
I went about a month ago with a mate and we left very disapointed, Nothing really technical, no flow to the route, quite overgrown making it hard to see the trail when cornering. The only real positive we could find was that it may ride ok when everywhere else is wet.
I live near Canterbury and can do the journey in 35mins and wouldn't bother going back (edit: If I did go back i would take cyclocross bike instead)
I've riden it 2 or 3 times..
Its OK, not wonderful, but OK... I'll do it again, mostly 'cause its on my way home from work and good for a quick post-work blast.
You pay for a 2 hour slot (£3.50) and to be honest, after 2 hours you'll have riden it all 3 times over.
There are a couple of pretty techy rock bits, and a few nice berms but nothing outstanding.
I've riden all but the 'black route' rock garden on a 100mm hard-tail quite happily.
The BMX track, skate bowl and roadie circuit are pretty cool though, and the facilities are nice.
I'm going on Sunday afternoon to put some miles on the road bike (am doing some half-arsed training for a 52 mile sponsored ride in Sept)
