iv entered this race and doing my research im finding out that its not technical and a lot of road work and fire roads, anyone experienced riding this if so is it ok on a rigid bike?

A lot of it is fairly decent surfaced tracks but I wouldn't fancy the final descent on a fully rigid bike.
It's fine on a hardtail but a bit I'd go for suspension forks.
