Which navigation aid are you all using (gps type) I'd like the one you all think is best. Thanks. 🙂
Garmin Legend C and tracklogs.
Not used anything else to compare this against but works fine for me.
Garmin Summit & Memory-map.
Only one I have used and it worked a treat on our two rides up on the N York moors.
Simple. No mapping just a line on a screen to follow. Easy to read as you belt along.
Is anyone using the Memory Map Adventurer 2800?
It looks like a good package.
The Etrex H is a good basic unit but does not do mapping.
If you want mapping you need the Etrex Legend HCx and get the free open source maps. The maps will be vector graphics not OS 50k or 25k bitmaps.
If you want OS bitmaps then you will need to get a Satmap Active 10 or a garmin dakota 20 or oregon 200 with Garmin GB Discoverer 1:50K map
If you want more than just navigation (cadence, heart rate and training profiles) then look at the gamin edge range.
If you don't want navigation at all and just want to find out where you/your spouse has been then look at the i-gotU GPS Travel Tracker V2

ViewRanger - on my phone
Full navigation & OS mapping. I find it convenient to have on one device. Battery life is good too - depends on your phone model of course, but a very good and cheap solution if you already have a suitable one. http://www.viewranger.com/
Edge 705 - now you can get FREE topo style maps with more details and even trail info on it on it as well 🙂 Nice to be OS on it but otherwise great piece of kit with the HRM on it as well 🙂
Edge 705 - It's the best, because it's the only one I've used on the bike.

OpenStreetmap data on my Edge 605 here too. It's great (or rather, it's great now I've made the local area a bit less lacking!)
