Terrible camera phone pics, sorry.
Sorting out a mates bike and found this beneath the mud.
Crack is all the way around and quite jagged in route, seems to follow the carbon stay plug?
Frame replaced no problem - except for the comment - Oh thats OK, not a real crack - but we will replace anyway???? He stuck to his guns and got the replacement.
It seems that many bikes are breaking on the welds these days, especially longer travel full suss.
trying to make them too light maybe?
Funny how the alloy broke and not that flimsy carbon 'devil plastic' ๐ .
I was/am quite interested if these frames but I'll be doing a few searches
now to see if this is a common fault.
thanks for the 'heads up'.
If its a common fault the next model will have it sorted. Their customer service seems quite good and the designs seem to respond to this sort of thing. There was a frame improvement on the 46's for similar reasons.
Off to wipe away some mud.
