So,having just not long bought the GP3 silver edition,and the 3+ is out,it says smaller,but it looks the same,what im wondering is will the 3+ battery which is supposedly 30% better,fit the GP3,the casing looks similar but smaller,is this how its saved its sizing or is the camera smaller,

The actual camera is the same size, it is the waterproof housing that is smaller/thinner. The batteries are the same physical size, but I haven't tried a 3+ battery in the 3.
Yes the 3+ battery will fit the 3 and it will give you the improved run times.
not the full 30% though, some of that is through more power efficient processor or software in the 3+
