Fancy buying an "action" camera and would be able to get one @ a semi decent price from my lbs, but after browsing this forum
http://goproforums.com/content/unable-power-hero-3
I,m having second thoughts have the glitches been sorted and would a techno phobe like myself be out of my depth when creating the odd rad film.

there was a thread a week or so back under something like GoPro what a bunch of ****s some issues, vast majority fine, those with issues getting replacements/refunds if you went through retailer otherwise spending hours on phone to a manufacturer (ie wrong place to call)

If buying from LBS then you have the ease of return if anything goes wrong.

I have a silver and black GP3. The black was purchased from the US just before Christmas and has had no issues. I have used a good quality SD card and have made sure that when updating the firmware that all steps have been covered to the letter.

Loads of my Gopro stuff here inc a number of comparisons of the models - http://www.unsponsored.co.uk/press/?cat=27

Hey, Postie - which lbs are you talking about?

My hero hd gave up the ghost the other day and would you believe it, 23 days out of warranty.

I was thinking of maybe replacing it with a Drift Ghost but I do have to say I like all the mounting options you get with the Gopro.

I'll be sending mine back to Gopro, buts that's going to cost £40 (got to go back to the US of A).

Paul the one I deliver to, they are "official" stockists they do not have any in stock @ the mo looking to get some more in in 10 days!
Need advice on what size/type card to run worth buying an extra battery, the mounts seem very pricey take it you can get copies from China!

I got the kit with a bag of mounts and got the cheast harness too - best bit of kit really. I have got the bar mount but not too impressed with it for filming, the mast clamp would fit most frames better.

I think the specs are on the GoPro site for cards etc.

Memory:
MicroSD class 10 or higher required
Up to 64GB capacity supported

Best card you can get 🙂 I got 2 smaller ones as they were cheaper than 1 big one, there is generally a sweet spot in SD pricing.

Funny you should ask - just been using mine skiing today. Kept freezing and locking up whenever the camera was started. Each time necessitating a battery removal to try again. Blimmin nightmare. Now trawling the forums to find out many other people experiencing similar.

My advice is get one, if it sucks take it back until you get a good one, my H3B has been fine and I'm enjoying messing about with it, I have a 32GB Class 10 card and one spare battery. I haven't been able to fill it yet in one session. I always clear the memory before going out again.

Some videos of mine here https://vimeo.com/snomys/videos

I've found this forum to be the most useful http://goprouser.freeforums.org/index.php

This is very useful for understanding it too from the guy that does the promo videos for gopro http://abekislevitz.com/understanding-your-new-gopro/
