Hi
I need to lengthen my brake hose due to getting a new frame and wondering if it's worth going goodridge or sticking with Shimano for my m785's ?? They are only £4 more expensive but are they any better ?
Advice warmly welcome
Cheers

They're meant to be better but I doubt anyone can physically notice.

I'd still pay the extra for goodridge.

Goodridge on my Dh bike, with reusable ends, now they are worth the money! Especially for a habitual frame swapper.

I got the Goodrich ones a while ago after damaging a hose. Seem to remember they are more flexible which is nice...however as soon as I wiped off the DOT fluid the Goodrich logos on the yellow collars wiped off! Details, Goodrich, details!

As spooky says, the Goodridge hoses are a bit more flexible. That can help reduce frame rub, if that's an issue for you.

I've used them on a couple of builds. I can't tell any difference between those, Shimano or Jagwire.

Definitely get Goodridge, no difference performance wise but infinitely better quality fittings compared to comedy Shimano crap. This solves one of the Shimano issues of leaking at the fittings. I also found it solved the variable bite point issues on M8000 or at least I thought it did until a recent trip to Malaga where it returned marginally but miles better than Shimano rubbish.

As for dot fluid soiling the pretty yellow goodridge logos that won’t be a problem with Shimano mineral oil.
