[#448226]

Hi all,

I am struggling to get the fittings attached to the hose for the end that goes into the lever.

I have three pieces, a collar with an 8mm nut, a long piece with two threads that threads into the hose and a swivelly bit that fits over the long piece.

I can put the collar on and start to thread the long piece in with the swivelly bit on it but I can not get the long peice to go all the way in.

Any clues please ?

had the same problem when i upgraded my hoses.

What i did was get a small star screw driver and put this into the end of the hose your putting the fitting into. This should hopefully give an angled starting point for the fitting as opposed to a straight edge.

Once you get it started it is just a matter of screwing it all together.

I can get the long one in on its own. Its when I am trying to screw it into the inside of the hose & onto the out collar as well.

The other end was easy as you have two nuts that spanners can grab.

The lever end long thingy is smoothe and there is nothing to grip.
I think I am either missing something or doint wrong or both.

ahh yes it is the other end of the hose.

Again i had the same problem and the only way i could think of doing it was getting some mold grips/pliers and gripping the smooth fitting and twisting. Make sure you use some protection cloth when gripping the fitting as you dont want to mark it.

Another option is to send it off to Goodridge who will do it for you if your not in a rush.

Cheers GiantJason,

I thought of the molegrip idea but did not fancy the potential damage. Might be a trip too the LBS I think.
