Previously I bought a bulk load of SuperStar which have served me well and have not had the same problems that some had with pads falling apart etc.

Wondering whether they are the ones to go for again or whether Uberbike etc are any better?

Or alternatively where has a good deal on at the moment!!!

I use sintered pads from uberbike with my zee/saint brakes cause they are cheap.

I've tried Shimano resin and Disco kevlar in mine. The latter were cheap and fine with a less solid feel than the former. I've just switched to Shimano sintered because whilst they aren't cheap they last for ages and feel rock solid.

If you're looking for low cost then I'd try the disco sintered. Used them in my m785s and they were define.

Those pads are pish. I got sent them by mistake so thought I'd try them but never again.

I use the Uberbike Race Matrix pads on all my rental bikes and my own bike. They're pretty damned good IMHO.

Used Uberbike race matrix for a couple of years on all our bikes with no problems. All on XT brakes

I've been using the Carbon Cycles DiscoBrakes semi-metallic pads in my X0 Trail brakes for a while. They offer less immediate bite than the SRAM OEM pads but loads of modulation. It requires a firmer pull to really slam the anchors on but when you do, the bike stops. Haven't tried any of their other compounds.

they're more expensive, but just get Shimano. They're far superior and last for ages and in that respect offer better value

I have been using the Superstar finned ones with replacement (yellow sintered) pads. Bought 4 pairs on a PSA sale for £15 and am still on the first 2 pairs having fitting them while in the Alps last summer. Very impressed with them to be far, although my mates take the piss out of the finned bits something rotten 🙂

Anyway, I have been so impressed (previous SS pad purchases having been disasters) that I bought another 4 pairs in the last 50% sale, just to have plenty in stock
