Probably going to spend November in France. I have spent a lot of time round Perpignan/Pyranees so want to go somewhere different. Ideal criteria would be: nice rocky techy riding, easily navigable (so waymarked trails a bonus), not too far from the coast for the best chance of decent weather.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

My sis lives and trains in Montpellier, so I'll ask her.

i've done a few rides around the montpellier area, in the hills around lac salagou/clermont-l'hérault. some decent singletrack in places around the lac iirc but for the most part i'd describe the riding as beautifully scenic bimbling at best.

as always in france, the vtt sites are waymarked with route cards from the tourist office or bike shop. details here

in all honesty, if you want really good riding, it's worth driving north for an hour or so into the cevennes which is a serious mountain range.
