So I am trying to find a good light-ish 26 MtB rim-brake wheelset, do such things even exist any more?

I've just been looking into this myself as I've been re-building my '97 Orange P7 as a gravel bike. I'm assuming you're looking for 100mm x 9mm QR front and 135mm x 10mm rear hubs.

I quite liked the look of these but I decided 17mm inner diameter rims were a bit narrow for what I was after. Might be OK for you though?

Thank you for the suggestion, but alas they are not shipping to GB anymore...

I think I will just have to build a set.
