I have a bit of a problem. I have most of the kit to build up a good 26er for trails + bikepacking perhaps (disc wheels, cranks, forks...) but no frame.

I would love to get a good 2nd hand steel frame (Kona or similar) but very few have the option of disc mounts. So are there any good ways of putting discs onto an old steel frame or should I go for a newer frame (inbred, orange p7..)?

Are all disc brake conversion kits all a recipe for disaster?
