Best grease for general maintenance duties any suggestions welcomed cheers.

Got a biggish tub of Comma stuff from Wilkos for a couple of quid

I use Marine Grease, to be exact, Evinrude Johnson Triple-Guard totally waterproof. I've no idea how it performs with MTBs v's other grease, but I have a tube of it for use on the Ski Boat, so what the hell!.
