[#529185]

Looking at a new 29er wheelset. Originally looking a Hope hubs (ss rear) on Stan's 355 or Arch. However been looking at Goldtec wheelbuilds. Anyone used the Goldtec ss rear disc hub? How does it compare to Hope? My other isue is I need a 20mm front and the Draco is a DH hub so, I presume , heavy. Any experiences appreciated.

Hi Clink. The Draco is not a heavy hub at all, basically it's a shell so looks like it should weigh a bit. Please give Bob a call at BETD to discuss the singlespeed options ok.

Owned by BETD now i believe. Did a bit of research on t'interweb on the hubs and they seem to get good reviews. Ordered a SS road hub from them through the lbs and they have been painfully slow at sending it out...

Used to run Dracos and SAM rear hubs years ago when I did a bit of downhilling. Jason's wheel builds were always very strong and tight. AS said, the Draco isn't as heavy as it looks, and is nice and strong. I used to run the XC version of the SAM rear for DH, and it was fine - from what I remember, it had an aluminium freehub instead of a steel one. Nice hubs.

It's the same guys who make Burgtec IIRC. And cameo disc Burgtecs have so far been perfect despite silly milage - around 11k miles over 2 years.

I sold a Draco hub last year, but before doing so I weighed it and a Hope XC I also had. The 20mm Draco hub was lighter than the Hope XC one.

titanium lover - how do you find the 355's? Are they too light for an all-round rim (I know there is another thread about this, but yours are the 29er)? Nothing more than xc with a few rocks.

Yes we make the Burgtec hubs and pedals too lol. Pistola it won't be because of any delay at our end, I can assure you if it's in stock it's posted very quick. Get onto the shop your end.
Clink - as I said give Bob a call at BETD and he will give you loads of info regarding the hubs. Bob's a proper mtb man and love all things bikes ok. And the more you lot buy, the more work I get lol.

Hadge,

Thanks. The last time i asked the lbs I was told the hub hadn't been received from BETD as it 'had just come back from anodizing' so I suspect it wasn't in stock (black 36H 120mm OLD fixed/free SS hub). I also suspect lbs weren't exactly quick out the blocks with the order.....

Hi pistola

There are certain hubs, spoke hole pattern, colours etc that we do run low on or sell out so I guess that could have happened with yours. We hubs make in batches as set-up for each is time consuming etc so if we do run out it could be a while before we make any more but we do try our best.

An yeah anyone who wants to pop in they are more than welcome and say Porky put you in touch!
