Have finally got home (was the bloke putting out the signs/collecting them in) did everyone enjoy it? The sun came shining through at about 4pm, a bit late for the race though!
I didn't get to do it this year......was good fun last yr though even though I got hailed on.
The food van did a great bacon and egg roll too.
When i am fit enough I will do it solo - perhaps.
I did it this year and got hailed on. Was a good event and well organised. Anyone got any idea when the results will be posted? Also does anyone know how the rider is who had the accident on the Flightpath section of singletrack? it looked quite nasty as he fell quite a way. Hope he's ok
I'm the bloke freezing at the end Rammy- you went to get my coat from H marshall. I got them from Visitor centre in the end out of injured guys bag - Hope he is ok !
Thanks for the offer of getting my clothes . Enjoyed the event - they are always so chirpy - so much so I said to the two girls at top of one climb to 'stop it' - grumpy at the time but only joking .
4 mins slower than last year so pleased with that - 5th again in MV40's unless someone beat me later on .
What was the route like this yr? Same as last yrs? I enjoyed it, but found the first bit of singletrack that went up the trail the wrong way quite tricky.
Did it as a team of three last yr and had good fun. Rode the MBR the day before as well, so took it nice and steady.
I remember it being a great atmosphere even though the weather was cak. I liked the staggered start system they used as well.
It was the same course as last year (which helped me putting out the signs). As for the injured cycle, a direct quote from the Goldrush forum:

"First of all I would like to thank the organisers for putting on a fantastic event. It is events like the goldrush that bring people into the sport and gives them a feel for competition.
I'm afraid I was the rider that fell off the trail on the singletrack climb. I think I have had a lucky escape as I only have a hairline fracture to my left tibia (shin) and ligament damage to my neck plus a few bumps and bruises.
I would like to thank the marshalls who got the medics to me very quickly and helped carry me off the hill.
I also owe alot of thanks to Extreme Medics whose expertise and top noth equipment no doubt saved me from further complications. The Ambulance crew and Hospital staff were both very impressed by the job they did and by the equipment.
Thankyou to everyone who was part of the air ambulance crew that flew out, the ambulance crew that drove me to Aberystwyth and the staff at the Hospital in Aberystwyth.
Thanks to everyone for your concerns, I am sure I will be well on the mend within 2 weeks.
Brodie
PS the bike appears to be fine."
Brownpants - I got up there and the marshal had packaged it with all the other stuff so got him to radio down, as caught up in the FC report writing, then collecting in the signs/cones. Glad you found your stuff though.
