First chance for our eldest's new bike. I was a little unsure as he took quite a while to crack his balance bike.

Very proud! I few solo runs and no falls. All in all a very successful afternoon!

Ah.. I see you used the good old fashioned "unhook their brakes and shove them down a hill" method 8)

He's not the best at modulating braking and it's his first experience with a front brake. It's amazing how affective v brakes are on a little bike: after he grabbed a huge handful of both brakes in the first couple of runs I decided it'd be wise to disconnect the front at this stage to avoid a huge faceplant!

Right about big shove though!

Brilliant! ๐Ÿ˜€

I took the stabilisers off my lads bike, with the intention of taking him out on it when i got back from the club run one Saturday morning. Very proud and surprised when i rode into our lane to see him riding up alone to meet me! He couldnt wait for me to get back so just took the bike out himself!........

Great stuff. My eldest learnt on holiday last year. Sat him on the bike, ran to the other end of the road & when I turned round he was already away on his own, following me. What really stuck with me was that he'd obviously sat their, plucked up the courage & thought "Right, this is it".
His younger brother was still three when he cracked it. He'd been blasting (and I mean blasting!!!) about on a Rothan for ages. It was literally a simple push & he was away. Aged 4 & 6 now & both ride own bikes to school (weather permitting).

And your right about the front brake. Looks like a Cnoc, & the brakes are superb on them.

It is a Cnoc 16. Really impressed with it. I assembled one of his pal's 16" wheeled Dawes bikes. Huge difference in general finish, weight and quality of components. It's a real 'little big bike'

Costs a little more than others but I'm sure we'll get the difference back on resale.

Little brother has the Rothan now!
