I'm probably going to replace my 2005 [2006?] Fox Vanilla R with something newer.
Everything in the 120/130mm travel bracket seems to be air these days, how much difference will I notice on the trail?
Slightly different forks as I'm going between a coil Boxxer and an air Pike but I don't really notice much difference between the two when I'm actually riding. The coil one feels smoother when bouncing/riding around a car park but when riding the air one feels just as good to me.
Crap. Thread title fail.
An air fork will tend to have a rising rate, a coil more linear. whether you notice or not I don't know - I like the rising rate as its soft and supple at the beginning without blowing thru its travel easily but I can hardly tell the difference myself
