Has anyone ridden the tracks past this lodge?
I passed the road end when I was out on Monday (
and the OS map show lots of potential loops to the NW, West and South.
Hi
no, *slightly strugging as work access screens out a lot, it's on my to do list, so if you do it an email of conditions etc would be dead handy. (You could try and get phone no off internet and phone - that's worked for me in other parts of Scotland)
I've done the North half of this, from road at N down to here
and it was a sandy landrover/car track. I've also scoped out the other end - field (it was 40mph headwind/rain so I abandoned), looked like it could be potentially boggy, but have read a tinternet post by some bloke who has done it - so it's on my MUST do list.
As an aside have you seen these:
as the station might make it loopable
We went this way a few years back on a Coast to Coast to Coast loop. The track heading South West from the lodge is an easy ride on a good solid estate track. Directly West is more scenic but a bit more hikey-bikey. You can also continue on to Kylestrome from Loch Stack on a fully rideable track over the hills too. Don't know about the tracks to the North of the Lodge though!
gsamc - I think we're at cross-purposes here but thanks for that info anyway. I can feel a plan forming..
josemctavish - the track up Glen Golly is the one that particularly interests me. ๐
Had a feeling that was what you were after - feel free to let me know if you get there first! Think I did a bit of t'internet research and saw something advising against trying to do the pathless link into Srath Dionard that way, but I still reckon it's tempting. I'll maybe stick up some piccies from the C2C we did across that way - don't know if I ever got round to it at the time.
druidh - this mentions a wee bit about the Glen Golly track if it helps any.

Arkle loop still have nightmares from the 1 time I did it yearsback. Fair bit of hike a bike from memory with not much st as a reward. Great scenery tho
