Please tell me that sets him up to be the most decorated UCI DH of all time at Fort Bill !?!?

Another Peaty win with our crowd would just make the weekend (again!)

Yeah, their viewer is cack, dropped out at least 4 times for me - and it's especially annoying since you have to wait for it to reload before you can skip back to where you where

can't argue with the price though

Check out the rain on his cap, heavens opened 5 mins after the end. Could have turned out a bit differently.

that must be his first WC win for over a year, possibly 2? mega chuffed for him, maybe not the most exciting rider to watch but so smooth and accurate with his lines. obviously sleep depravation hasnt hurt his speed much!

I was trying to think when his last win was myself - Willingen 2006 wasn't it?

thats not what he said afterwards. peaty's wasnt perfect either, looked a bit sketchy in the fast top section and a few other moments too. peaty deserved it, he proved it was no fluke by taking quali and the finals. no doubt sam will return the favour before too long. hannah is stirring things up though huh?

His last win was in 2006, I'm sure.

Really pleased for him getting level with Nico on race victories. I was starting to think it wouldnt happen....

Specialized can't be pleased, as on a Iron Horse Sam Hill was winning everything.

the fettler
sam had a bad run

... so ... that’s racing... if he had a good run he would have won, but so could any number of riders... peaty had a 'good' run and took it...

thats racing. sam was not on it.. not the best rider on the day, peaty was... so congratulations to him, it was not a 2nd rate win by any means.

Whilst I am a big fan of Peaty, I don't think him beating Nico's record proves much other than the fact that he's a very durable competitor - Nico will always be the better rider.

As for Neilforrow's comment - all I can say is google "facepalm".

I agree, Nico is the 'better' rider, but it's nice for the record books to show that Steve Peat is ranked alongside the best in terms of race wins.

The other thing is that Nico did it in an 10 year WC career, Steve's done it in 14 seasons....

I'm not sure whats better, the Dh racing, or the brilliant commentery on freecaster. I love he fact its so random and Rob Warner is a legend! The La Brese track looked awesome and the rain made it interresting and mixed things up bit. I thought Brendon and Hill were gona have it with there brilliant werd line on the mid section but Peaty was awesome!

I personally think the track looked fun, but not world cup dh standard. It will be very interesting once they get to the steeper more tech tracks - then we'll really see what Hill is made of, or rather what the others are made of.

So far hill has done very well on two very pedally tracks.

as for Specialized being upset

hmm, I reckon they'll be OK with having 4th and 6th overall, what with this being their first season

The course looked ace! - the TV dudes like to show the fast long panning shots, which by their nature are on the flatter/more open/easier(?) sections of the track. (it isn't often worth the hassle of installing a camera deep in the woods if they can only capture 0.3 seconds of footage before the rider dissapears behind the next tree)

the riders seemed to enjoy it, there was plenty of entertainment (harmless crashing) for the crowds, and Nathan Rennie for one found it capable of causing an upset.

and with Sam Hill coming second on a fast pedally course and Brendan bagging 4th - ahead of the current world champion, i'd bet Specialized are more than happy. Not bad for a bike that most people write off as nothing more than a 'huck bike'...

and of course, congratulations to Dr Peat! does anyone know the world cup standings so far?
(edit - thanks ash 😀 - the big man's in the lead!)
