And before some of you start.......
I know that you can ride your bike, any bike on any day that you want to and you don't need to do a song and dance about it, but if you are a Fat Bike owner and are in the slightest bit interested a few years ago when bike numbers were low a few of us Brits did a Fat Bike Ride Day where everyone with a Fat Bike did a ride on that day whether it be around the block, an epic or a group ride and took a photo to prove it.
Silly, childish and fun.
Well as normal the Yanks got hold of the idea and now there is a Global Fat Bike Ride Day, this year it's Saturday December 5th.
At any time in that 24 hour window if you have a Fat Bike and you want to join in, go for a ride on it. It's as simple as that.
There will be several group rides all around the UK, I'm leading the North West England ride in the sand dunes, beaches and sandy single track of Merseyside.
Meet up 9am at the South end of Crosby Beach (the one with the Iron Men on it)

Ride it if you want to, don't ride it if you don't want to.
Think your title is premature 😉
Cheers
Just in time to edit it to the right date
#Muppet
No worries, I'm hoping there is a peak district ride 🙂
If not come and join us for an ice cream at the sea side
I am hoping to be there if I can get a visa to cross the border in time
Will be down south riding fat & drinking proper beer in the sunshine 🙂
Any fatty rides around boxhill ?? On that day??
I have a big group of .....2 inc me...lol
Cheekyget, the ride I'm attending is Surrey hills, so maybe?
"Down south" and "proper beer" don't seem to fit in the same sentence!
Cheekyget - rather hope mine will be up and running by the (9 weeks into wheel build saga now!). Planning on starting Reigate Hill that day!!
I will either be at Barmouth or the wyre
I'll be riding near Rhayader, or on The Ridgeway, with two other part time fat bikers.

Everyone with a fatbike didn't do a ride.
There's quite a few folks that don't need telling what bike to ride on any given day...

Dear Stu.
I put the first 3 lines in my first post just for you because I knew you'd have something to say on the matter...... 🙄
It reads
"And before some of you start.......
I know that you can ride your bike, any bike on any day that you want to and you don't need to do a song and dance about it......"
and the last line as well
"Ride it if you want to, don't ride it if you don't want to."
17 riders so far

i put my trust in @beerbiker and take no notice of north/south stereotypes
You missed your own quote about "where everyone with a Fat Bike did a ride"
I think you could be a little wrong there. 😆
I hope you and your 16 followers have a great day though...
"Never argue with a narrow minded fool, onlookers will not be able to tell the difference"
Who's arguing...
Hows that forum doing that no one new seems to be able to join 😉
We were going anyway, pure coincidence it's ' a day' . Just Three mates, who don't get together that often, who all just happen to have bought fat bikes this summer. Dec 5th was chosen to suit us.
Well at least it gives me a date to own a fat bike by 😉
n + 1 bothering me again!

Should of got use to it by then 😆

It sounds like a laugh.

It is do'able on a plus 3" for 90% of the ride as it's very soft in places, but it's a ride made for a Fat Bike really.
What you got?
It 3" up front. 🙂
But a lowly 2.8" out back. 🙁
I can bring a shovel...
Are you telling me I need another bike...
Is that what your saying...is it...it is isnt it... 😉
Slam69 are arranging the FOD event. Check out Facebook for details, alternatively get in contact with the shop for details.
I live in Worcester and in the process of building a Fat front Inbred. No idea what I'm going to use it for but I'll go for a ride with you on fat bike day! Maybe it will float and we can ride down the Severn?Dave E

Bromsgrove here, head up the canal & ride the NWAlps
Slam FOD may be on the Sunday but would like to be involved on the actual global fatbike day.
Thinking of FOD on the Saturday unless any other gatherings on.
Hi Russ will look at that know Footie and Andy for years. The shop will be open Saturday so maybe they are doing Sunday!!.I can still do Saturday.
Perhaps its a 2dayer down there 🙂
I'm in Bromsgrove too and have just bought a voodoo (yup, hallfords) fat bike after being temporarily distracted (5 years or so) from dirt by skinny tyres and tarmac. The bike is ok. I am fairly unfit at the moment though but why not get out and celebrate? There will be cake wont there?
4 weeks today bump
Ive just asked the other half if I can treat myself to a fat bike for xmas, and stone the crows.. she says 'if you can afford it'
That means yes, right?
Any South Downs rides planned on the 5th?
Pub B&B booked & our ride involves a brewery, good job the fat ride is forgiving!
Both of us gfbd-ing in the Black Forest.....
Where are all the fb riders around here ?
Swanage caravan booked........
I shall be in the FoD with fadda junior for an informal hour or two on the Saturday. Off there in half an hour or so, for the maiden journey on the Dune...
