Hi everyone,

Looking for recommendations for a nights stay in the Glentress, Peebles, Inners area this weekend as we fancy getting a days riding in Sunday on our way back from the Track cycling in Glasgow.

We have stayed for a week up there before riding but that was in a rented holiday flat. We are looking for somewhere warm, clean and possibly biker friendly but bike storage is not essential as we have a transporter.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated,

All the best,
Lee.

How many of you? The Bike Lodge and Bike House are both superb, self catered, space for up to 6. Both run by bikers for bikers.

If you want something smaller, then the pods at glentress are popular.

Ah, those are both self-catered apartment sort of places so might be bigger than you need.

If they have space the Craiguart B&B is spot on

2 people = Tontine in Peebles

More = Innerhaven

Stayed in loads of places around there and those two are my personal faves.

Not in Peebles but close is the Drochil Castle. Excellent accommodation when I have stayed there.

Tontine is very, very nice. A whole world nicer than the Hydro which we stayed the night after we stayed in the Tontine. Bike storage, right in the centre for a few drinks etc, top notch breakfast and very nice rooms.

Another vote for Craiguart B&B. I've stayed there twice and it was great. Very good location and facilities for both guests and bikes. Nice people too.

Glentress Hotel no longer does accommodation as mad as that sounds.

When we were up there a couple of weeks ago they said the restaurant was turning into a Steakhouse that would open 3 nights per week and they were closing the hotel.

They are apparently going for planning permission to change the hotel into self catering riders apartments or something like that.

The self catering properties they own in Peebles are business as usual as far as I know.
